(9/10) Gazpacho was on tour in early 2014 to promote their latest studio album "Demon". The tour brought the prog rockers to many countries, but even though they played quite some shows the guys have been missing out some of their fans. What is better in such a case than filming one of the gigs and release it as a live CD/DVD.
Gazpacho teamed-up with Dutch filmmaker Jon Vis and recorded a concert that took place in The Netherlands; in De Boerderij in Zoetermeer on April 27th, 2014 - just to be precise. The entire show contained a setlist of 14 songs which are all on the DVD. The audio version, which I have as a base for this review, comes with nine out of those 14 tunes. This gives still 80 minutes of excellent prog rock that is a treat for your ears.
Big soundscapes meets outstanding melodies; performed live in a perfection that is jaw-dropping. The sound on this live release is another factor that should convince each proggie to go for this release. It is just perfect by still being very authentic. The live atmosphere is transported in a very good way, the fans' reaction is very enthusiastic and "Night of a demon" is a perfect capture of an outstanding live show.
I can recommend this CD and I could imagine that the DVD is even more exciting. Two thumbs up.
