(7/10) Bonafide is the brain child of singer/guitarist Pontus Snibb. It was in 2006 when he laid the foundation of the band that released several records up to date. Live gigs and a couple of festival shows at Sweden Rock familiarized the rock fans with Bonafide and the four-piece band attracted more attention. As we speak Bonafide’s next studio album sits in the starting blocks, ready to run.

What can the listener expect from the new longplayer? A new sound? No. A revolution in music? No. Good stuff? Absolutely.

The story of rock doesn't need to be rewritten due to Bonafide's new longplayer "Flames". However, the record is definitely hot. Bonafide keeps the hardrock fire burning, a flame that was ignited by bands like AC/DC many decades ago. It's the Australian legends that influenced songs like the opener "Back in Flames" and the great "Bottle of Jack". Next to Angus & Co it was also Aerosmith and Kiss that obviously belongs to Bonadide's favorites, at least you could get this idea while listening to songs like "Power Down" and "Written in Stone".

"Flames" is a grooving hardrock longplayer that includes solid songs. In case you're looking for a cool party soundtrack - these nine songs will do the job.

  1. Back in Flames

  3. Power Down

  10. Under Your Spell
