(8/10) Havok, hailing from Denver, Colorado, started their mission in thrash metal in 2004. Over the last 13 years the guys added three records to the table. 2017 is the year of number four. "Conformicide" is the name of the mind-blowing thrash attack that features 12 brand new songs.

"F.P.C." is the first sonic assault and it's a brutal one. Raging riffs and a hammering bassline blends the best parts of bands like Megadeth (during the "Peace Sells..." days) and Suicidal Tendencies.

Another song I want to stand still for a second is "Masterplan" that starts with a melodic lead guitar and a marching drum beat. A might riff stops this moment of breathtaking and the song builds up to a grooving metal beast that acts as a punch into your face. Havok shifts gears within the tune which makes "Masterplan" to a brutal anthem.

But "Conformicide" isn't only about music. Havok's lyrics a critical confrontation with political and social mischief. "Hang 'em High" as an example addresses lies and dishonest politics with a clear line saying "The enemy is not coming from overseas". "Dogmanical" is another example with Havok condemning religious fanaticism. Together with Kreators newest milestone "Conformicide" belongs to the real highlights of 2017. I would recommend some training for your neck muscles because otherwise you will end up with severe pain due to intense headbanging.
