(7/10) Spacetrucker is a band from St. Louis and the trio base their sound on classic rock influences which they merge with a stoner rock vibe. "Launch sequence" is the new EP and it’s either a long EP or a short longplayer. With a running time of 27 minutes it at least sits somewhere in between.

Actually it's not easy to write about this longplayer. Spacetrucker has a few good songs in petto. However, I got the feeling that I have heard this kind of music very often, maybe even too often, over the last weeks and months. Not that the seven tracks are bad stuff. Songs like the grooving "Science of Us" aren’t too bad, but again, it's the uniqueness that's missing.

For the rest there is nothing wrong with this record. Stoner fans should give it a try, you might like it. "Launch Sequence" provides you with almost half an hour of good rock music that’s based on downtuned guitars and well-done vocals lines which are built on top of a powerful rhythm section. If this is what you're looking for than this disc should be your choice.
